MR. CHRISTOPHER IMES
Director of Christian Education

Chris was born in Evansville, IN on May 29th, 1981. Baptized into the Christian Faith Chris grew up in the Methodist Church. As a kindergartener Chris was enrolled in Evansville Lutheran School. During these years his family was led to join St. Paul's Lutheran Church, one of the association churches of the school.

Chris attended Benjamin Bosse High School. During these years Chris was a member of the Varsity Wrestling Team, Cross Country Team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and National Honors Society. He also became very active in his Sr. High Church Youth Group. It was during his senior year of High School that he began dating his future wife Andrea, who he also went to grade school with.

During his Junior year of High School Chris felt the Call to become a Director of Christian Education. Upon graduation he attended Concordia University, River Forest, IL (now Concordia Chicago). He studied for four years and in 2003 served his year-long DCE Internship at Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus, IN.

Chris and Andrea were married on June 7th of 2003 prior to moving to Columbus.

Chris graduated with his BA in Theology with a concentration in Youth and Family Ministry in May of 2004. Shortly after Chris and Andrea moved to Glendale, AZ where Chris began his first Call at Atonement Lutheran Church.

In November of 2005 Chris and Andrea were blessed with the gift of their son Jackson. And in January Chris left for three weeks to begin his Masters Program at Concordia University, Seward, NE. He plans to graduate with his Masters of Science in Family Life Ministry in 2008.

Led by the Spirit's urging, Chris, Andrea, and Jackson accepted the Call to serve here at St. John's. Chris was installed as Director of Christian Education on June 16th and 17th, 2007.
